The adjudication of a move by Ken Lowe's Judge will be final unless a bug can be clearly demonstrated; in particular, the Judge's implementing its advertised algorithm for handling paradoxical convoys is not a bug. No deception of or impersonation of the GM, the Judge, or the Judge Keeper is permitted under any circumstances. The GM's decision is final on any interpretation of these House Rules or any eventuality not covered by them.
The game settings will only be changed if there is a reasonable request to do so; a single vote against within a reasonable time, from either a player or the GM, will be sufficient to prevent the change of settings being made.
All players are expected to be acting in their own best interests; signing onto a game with the intent of automatically allying with or allying against a particular player, or predicating actions in one game on actions in another, is a breach of these House Rules. Signing on as more than one power under any kind of aliases or under any conditions is grounds for removal from the game. To this end, players are expected to have valid and truthful Judge registrations.
All players should have full orders entered by the announced deadline. Persistent lateness is grounds for removal from the game by the GM. A grace period is provided; this is for emergencies and unforeseen lack of email access only. Press may be sent during the grace period only by those who have submitted orders; delaying the submission of orders beyond the deadline while waiting for press from another player is unacceptable. Deadline extensions of reasonable duration will usually be granted if requested on reasonable grounds; this is at the discretion of the GM. Please submit requests for extensions as far in advance as you can.
Players signing onto the game are expected to play through to the end or their elimination. If owing to unforeseen circumstances a player is obliged to resign, they are encouraged to give as much notice as possible to the GM, and also encouraged to find their own replacement. If a player goes abandoned through lateness and their power is taken over, they have forfeited the right to that power, regardless of the circumstances of their lateness (this is the purpose of the grace period).
Observers may, if the press settings allow, submit press; they should refrain from giving specific advice or analysis. Eliminated players and those whose power has been taken over may submit press under the same restrictions as observers. They may not rejoin the game as another power without the permission of the GM.
If a game is being played anonymously (the "gunboat" Judge variant), players may not disclose or make any claim as to their identity; if such disclosure is accidental, the GM may at his discretion permit them to continue, otherwise the player will be removed from the game. Players may not contact each other other than through the Judge's press mechanism, or at all in no-press games.
Press during build and retreat phases is permitted only if you have orders submitted (or are not required to submit any); as noted in point 4, delaying the submission of orders beyond the deadline while waiting for press from another player is unacceptable. This is a compromise between the rulebook's banning of negotiation outright (designed for the different conditions of FTF play) and allowing press ad lib. (which has a tendency to lead to delays).
The GM will not broadcast game-ending proposals; all game endings must be negotiated among the players and agreed to by use of the 'draw' command. If the game appears to the GM to be deadlocked absolutely, he may announce the start of the "three-year clock"; if there has been no change in supply centre ownership by three game years after such announcement and no other game ending agreed to, the game will be ended as a draw between all survivors.
Players are expected to conduct all their negotiations in a civilised manner; breach of this rule may, at the GM's discretion, result in removal from the game.
