Emma Smith Emma is an orphan, raised by an uncaring foster system that largely left her alone. That's alright, she'll leave you alone, too. Her only love is the library she manages for the Department, and for the smaller but much more exclusive collection she keeps for herself in her firetrap apartment. If you need to know it, she can find it, and the weirder the better. You just better hope that when she finds the answer, she doesn't decide to keep it for herself. Emma is an unloved orphan who only cares about her books. some of which are... special. Emma, on the other hand, was looking for a book she found mentioned in a tattered catalog hidden behind a disused filing cabinet in the second subbasement of the Library of Congress. And when she finally found the book, it turned out to be in the Department's collection. So she'll have to get a job before she can read it. Emma was orphaned at a young age. She was brought up adequately (enough food, a bed, etc) in a foster home, but the foster mother was only in it for the money: it was as many kids as possible and why bother showing them affection? they're just boarders with the government paying the rent. Emma loves her books. She doesn't care enough about anything else to hate it. People? Other people are just things that might get in the way of collecting her books. Emma: Most people go for "mousey". Brown hair held up in a bun by those sharp pokey stick things, thin glasses on a delicate chain around her neck, she's probably got some dust smudges on her skirt somewhere. Emma has those pointy sticks holding up her librarian's bun? So whenever the knives come out she grabs those and starts stabbing. They also double as knitting needles. GM says, "I believe that the word at that point is 'triple'." Aspects: some came from http://evilhat.wikidot.com/aspect-examples Socially Maladjusted I remember reading about this!
